education and mentoring

It might seem impossible right now. I felt the same way just a few years ago, a community college student photographing just-for-fun portrait sessions on the weekends, with absolutely ZERO knowledge of running a successful photography biz.

Let me guess- you’ve found a passion for photography. You’re ready to turn that passion into a lucrative business, but you have no idea where to begin. It seems daunting, but I’ve been there- exactly where you are. I’ve dreamt of creating a wedding photography business that could support my family. I’ve longed to provide stunning galleries for clients that LOVE my work. I would follow photographers on Instagram and think to myself, “wow, that’s gorgeous, but I could never create something that beautiful.” I NEVER thought in a million years that I’d be where I am today.

Today I capture love stories for clients that totally fire me up, I’m proud of the images I provide for them, and I even have enough free time to actively upscale my business. I absolutely would not be where I am today without seeking education in the industry. There is no way I could have learned this information in a typical college setting or by figuring it out on my own. So why should you have to?

I am so stoked to be offering mentorships for aspiring photographers. Taking advantage of mentorships has been a vital part of my growth, and I am ready to give back to the community that’s built my business from the ground up.

I’m here to tell you that it IS possible. It’s time to unleash your potential and create a legacy that you’ve always dreamed of. You’re one step closer.

I specialize in wedding and couple photography, so my mentorships are mainly focused on that niche of the industry. I want to make sure I’m giving you the very BEST content I can give. I could probably tell you how to run a successful senior portrait business, but not based on experience. I know wedding photography like the back of my hand. Now it’s my job to share my mistakes and triumphs with you.

During our mentorship, we can go over camera basics, lighting, composition, editing styles, client communication, portrait sessions, social media, Lightroom, pricing, gallery delivery, detail styling, must-have wedding shots, reception lighting, back-up systems, personal brands, website critiques, and virtually anything else pertaining to a wedding photography business. Nothing is off the table.

they calmed my nerves

Jamie and Roman’s one-on-one mentorship has been extremely helpful in developing my skills as a photographer. We initially met virtually, and they walked me through a typical wedding day step-by-step. They included information about everything from recommended camera lenses, questions to ask before the wedding, organization tips with family portraits, all the way down to tips on detail shots. They calmed my nerves and made me feel a lot more confident and ready to start my journey into wedding photography. Jamie and Roman are both so sweet, kind, and encouraging. I am not typically a very confident individual, but their mentorship has made me feel much more comfortable in pursuing a new sub-genre of photography.

Jamie and Roman Eppig

Roman and I are pretty much opposites. He is an adrenaline junkie, and I enjoy the rush of a hot tea by the fire. He is loud and outspoken, while I am the shy one that blushes and giggles at him while he works the room. In most areas of our life, we balance each other out in a way that is so beneficial to the other.

One thing that we both love is teaching. In fact, our opposing personalities offer two contrasting teaching styles that compliment the other in their own ways. We tend to bounce off of each other’s ideas and finish each other’s sentences. So basically, you better have a pen and paper ready (or the notes app open on your phone).

Roman and I started working together a little over a year ago, and becoming a team has taught us more about this business than anything else. We cannot wait to share it with you!
